Creating change for women and girls in Southwest Pennsylvania
The mission of the Women and Girls Foundation (WGF) is to achieve equity for women and girls in the eleven counties of Southwest Pennsylvania. To achieve equity, the Foundation supports high impact initiatives that have potential for a geographical and generational ripple effect, improving the rights of women and girls in our region at all stages of their lives. Through its grantmaking, WGF strives to seed positive, long-term, systemic change able to endure political, social, cultural and economic fluctuations.

New! Report on Status of Women in Westmoreland County Released
On October 14, 2008, the Status of Women in Westmoreland County Summit brought together 200 business, public sector and non-profit leaders to present a new research report outlining the status of women in Westmoreland County with regard to five broad areas: pay equity, poverty, health and well-being, leadership and violence. The summit served to inspire community action to address areas in which the status of local women needs improvement. This study was supported by a grant from the Women and Girls Foundation. Read the study findings by clicking here and the article that appeared in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette on November 6 2008.
